Our Shakespeare Production Guides present 50 minute workshops to school groups attending one of the plays. These workshops can be conducted in the school a few days before students will see the show or groups can arrange to arrive an hour early on the day of the show to have the Production Guide workshop right here on the grounds of The Old Globe. Either way, students will participate in an interactive session that will help them understand the story, characters, time period, and production elements that they’ll be seeing in the show. Because modern directors tend to find new ways to approach Shakespeare’s work our workshops also focus on the director’s concept as well, enabling students to understand how directorial decisions were made in the context of the text.
