The seventh annual Old Globe Christmas Tree Lighting will kick off the holiday season in conjunction with San Diego's favorite holiday musical, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Designed by Grinch scenic designer John Lee Beatty, the unique tree will be located in the center of the Globe Plaza and will remain there for the run of the show.
This FREE fun family event will feature a special live performance by members of the Grinch cast, Christmas carols and delightful holiday snowfall on the Globe's Copley Plaza.

We have currently reached the allotted capacity for reservations for this event. While we are unable to accept any further reservations, you are welcome to join our stand-by line on the evening of the event. Stand-bys will be able to line up starting as early as 4:30pm on the evening of November 18, 2012. The event starts at 6:00pm, and we will admit stand-by patrons as space on our plaza permits.

The event takes place outdoors on Copley Plaza, rain or shine – please dress accordingly.
This event is standing room only. There is limited seating available on our plaza.
The total run time of this event is approximately 15-20 minutes.
The event is open to all ages.
As always, please remember to allow at least one hour in Balboa Park to find parking and make your way to the theatre.
